Knysna: "The Pearl of the Garden Route"

The Graywood Hotel offers visitors a perfect base from which to explore the quaint town of Knysna and the many adventures found on the Garden Route.

The Hotel itself is centrally situated, within easy walking distance of the Knysna Waterfront, as well as the town centre.
In keeping with the character and spirit of the surrounding indigenous Knysna forest, the hotel enjoys beautiful woodwork throughout.
Knysna nestles on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in the heart of South Africa's popular Garden Route. Surrounded by ancient indigenous forests, tranquil lakes and golden beaches, this popular holiday destination is a haven for nature lovers and is a world-class playground for adventure and outdoor enthusiasts.
At the same time, the quaint and atmospheric town is bursting with alternatives for those who prefer to immerse themselves in culture, history, arts and crafts, shopping and the pursuit of culinary excellence.

The Graywood Lodge is a short 300m walk from both the town centre and Knysna Waterfront, which is the departure point for boat cruises and ferry rides to the Knysna Heads and Featherbed Nature Reserve.

The Graywood Hotel provides 48 tastefully decorated en-suite rooms.  Décor is fresh and uncluttered with crisp white duvets and warm tones in the upholstery.

Each room is equipped with air-conditioning, an electronic safe, remote control TV, direct dial telephone, hair dryer as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

The Knysna Lagoon:
The lagoon: about 18 sq. km and home to at least 200 species of fish is connected with the Indian Ocean through a turbulent channel between "The Heads", two sandstone cliffs.
Tour around on one of several boats or just take a coffee at "the Heads". Take a boat across to the Featherbed Nature Reserve on the Heads (this is an organised tour because it's a private reserve, but it's a good way to spend some time on the lagoon then take a walk in the reserve).
